This camera research project was designed for a creation tool called Tackk, which has since been discontinued. It required my students to use the internet to conduct research on an assigned camera and then report their results on a Tackk, which was a one page website that allowed students to add pictures, text and links to illustrate their ideas. Tackk allowed students to share their work with others using the supplied short link.

The alphabet books assignment required my students to combine their fledgling photography knowledge - they would have just learned to shoot in automatic mode; this assignment is early in class - and creation software to create a book with their photographs. Students could use the Book Creator App or iBooks Author to create their end product. They would use this knowledge later in the year to create books that would showcase their photography and photo editing skills as an end of the year project.

This assignment from ETEC 562 was a technology integration unit in which students would create digital books to showcase photography and digital storytelling. It's a continuance of sorts of the alphabet book project, but where it differs is the focus on telling stories as opposed to taking random pictures. As the year progresses, students gain familiarity with a variety of software and gain skills and confidence with the camera, which allows them to use the technology for a real world purpose - sharing the stories and issues that are important to them.

This artifact is a little different in that it has to do with integrating supplements into an existing professional development for teachers. I worked with aha! Process to create supplemental interactive and audiovisual content for Dr. Ruby Payne's seminal work Framework for Understanding Poverty. Primarily, I worked with Dr. Auzenne-Curl and Dr. Payne in reimagining how teachers could interact with the material via Padlet, Twitter and other means. I also created the animated supplemental portions in Powtoon Pro, Explain Everything and did video and audio recording and editing. The primary task was to make Dr. Payne's work come alive to an audience.
